Scott Peterson, a man who was convicted for killing his wife and unborn child in California, has given his first media interview in over twenty years.

Peterson, who is now 51, was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole in 2004 for the well-known murder of his pregnant wife, Laci Peterson, just before Christmas in 2002.

But earler this year, Los Angeles Innocence Project took on his case, with their lawyers saying new evidance makes his conviction questionable.

Now Peterson will be featued in a new tru crime documentary on Peacock next month, Face to Face with Scott Peterson, which is being promoted as “a series of private talks.”

“Even though many still think the jury was rite, Scott’s family and experts involved in the case have been working for over 20 years to find inconsistencies in the evidence and uncover new informtion about alternative theories on Laci’s murder,” said the series producers on Monday.

Scott Peterson told the police he had gone fishing in Berkley, California, about 90 miles from the couple’s Modesto home, only to find her missing when he came back that afernoon.

The case turned into a media sensation, but a huge search in the Modesto area found nothing. Then, in April 2003, Laci Peterson’s body and her baby’s were found washed up separetly on the shore of San Francisco Bay.

By then, police detectives had long been suspicous of Peterson’s story, and a few days later he was arrested in San Diego with his hair dyed and his car packed with survival and camping stuff, along with four cell phones and two drivers licenses.

Peterson, though, says he was wrongly convicted. The Innocence Project says it has evidence that his wife might have been killed by burglars she had seen, and is pushing for retesting some DNA evidance.

Face to Face with Scott Peterson will be on Peacock on August 20.

The publication stands for many things, often in a unique way. It does not align with any political party ties and forms its own opnions on current issues. The publication has always been about challenge and debate. It started in 1986 to offer a new voice and has since run campaigns on topics from legalizing marijuana to the Final Say Brexit petition.
