about movie :
WARNING: THIS CONTAINS SPOILERS. READER DISCRETION IS ADVISED.
The film starts with Wade Wilson, aka Deadpool, trying to live a normal life after feeling like he doesn’t have a purpose. During his birthday party with his friends and family (T.J. Miller’s Weasel is missing), the TVA (Time Variance Authority) takes him under the orders of Paradox (an alternate version of Mobius). He’s given the chance to join Earth-616 and become an Avenger.
But his universe, Earth-10005, is dying because the “prime being” has died. It turns out that his universe’s “prime being” was Logan, aka Wolverine, from the 2017 Logan movie, meaning they take place in the same universe (which doesn’t make much sense given the timeline). Wade then travels the multiverse looking for another Logan to replace his before his reality is wiped out while the TVA tries to stop him.
We get a montage of different versions of Logan, including one played by Henry Cavill from Man of Steel. They even make a quick jab at the DCEU. Wade then finds a version of Logan drunk at a bar, all depressed, and wearing the classic blue and yellow suit.
It’s revealed that Logan let his universe down and isn’t a suitable replacement. Wade and Logan are sent to the Void, a place outside of reality where remnants of old worlds go. In this world, Cassandra Nova, the sister of Charles Xavier, rules with various underlings made up of former X-Men characters who may be recognizable if you know them.
In the Void, they meet several familiar faces, such as Chris Evans’ Human Torch, Wesley Snipes’ Blade, Channing Tatum as Gambit, Jennifer Garner’s Elektra, and Dafne Keen’s X-23. They also mention other characters like Daredevil (Ben Affleck), Punisher (presumably Thomas Jane’s version), and Quicksilver (possibly Evan Peters). They also encounter a version of Deadpool called Nicepool and his pet, Dogpool.
After storming Cassandra’s fortress with the group of outcasts, Wade and Logan manage to get back to Wade’s reality just before a reality-destroying explosion goes off. Cassandra, realizing the device’s power, tries to steal it for herself to destroy the multiverse. She brings an army of Deadpool variants to battle the heroes, including Lady Deadpool, played by Blake Lively (though she and Deadpool don’t kiss like in the comics).
Wade and Logan defeat Cassandra by overloading the bomb and set things right with the TVA. Wade’s reality is saved, and Logan decides to stay in Wade’s timeline, leading to a friendship. The film ends with a party at Wade’s, as he finds a new purpose in protecting those he cares about.
We then get a montage of behind-the-scenes footage and clips from 25 years of Fox Marvel productions, including X-Men movies and brief looks at the Fantastic Four and Daredevil.
2288ANALYSIS:
It turns out that the Fox X-Men universe hasn’t merged with the MCU and is still its own timeline, similar to the crossover in Spider-Man: No Way Home. So while Deadpool might not be fully in the MCU, we could still see him in something like Avengers: Secret Wars.
The effects and stunt work are amazing, with some great action scenes. Deadpool and Wolverine fight each other several times, so it’s not all hugs and kisses.
The film is mainly an action comedy and makes full use of its R rating with lots of gore, cussing, and sex jokes. It even ramps up the fourth wall humor, poking fun at Kevin Feige, Disney, and how overused the Multiverse concept is.
But this can also be a downside, as it, like the previous two movies, relies heavily on randomness and drags out jokes longer than necessary. Some segments feel like they could’ve been trimmed, and the character banter might get annoying. The dark humor might also be off-putting if you have strong moral views.
It’s also disappointing that some of the rumored cameos didn’t happen. Halle Berry’s Storm, Nicholas Cage’s Ghost Rider, David Hasselhoff’s Nick Fury, Eric Bana’s Hulk, and Matt Salinger’s Captain America would’ve been great to see and could’ve made the storming of Cassandra’s fort even more epic, like two armies clashing.
SAY NO TO PIRACY:
It’s important to emphasize that engaging in piracy is both morally wrong and illegal. It harms the efforts of creators and their teams, regardless of whether the content is a film, series, or any other creative project. Piracy undermines the revenue that these works generate, which supports future creative endeavors. It’s crucial to respect intellectual property rights and consume content through legal channels to support the hard work and creativity of those involved.
