Some reports — not yet confirmed by the cops — suggest that Tamura may have been tryin’ to target the NFL headquarters. Rumors say he was frustrated over not makin’ it into the league. But again, that’s just speculation for now. The NYPD hasn’t released an offical motive.
The incident happened at around 6:30 p.m. when Tamura walked into the skyscraper at 345 Park Avenue in Midtown. He opened fire, injurin’ a police officer and two others in the process. A shootout broke out in the lobby, and then Tamura moved up to the 33rd floor. The building is home to some big names, includin’ Blackstone (the world’s largest hedge fund), KPMG, Deutsche Bank, and the NFL’s main offices.
